IT rolls around every week - bin day in Worcester.

But despite its regularity you may still have a few questions about your black and green bins.

What can I recycle? Should this go in the recycling bin? How do I get a brown garden waste bin?

And there are also things you probably don't know about bin day but should.

What can be recycled in the green household waste bin?

How do I get a brown garden waste bin?

Worcester City Council state on its website that it is temporarily unable to accept new garden waste customers because it is waiting for new bin stock.

They added it will reopen as soon as the new bins are delivered.

"Bins already ordered by customers will be delivered as soon as new stock arrives. Current bin collection services are not affected."

I have had a positive covid test - what should I do about my personal waste?

Worcester News: A Covid-19 self-test kit (David Davies/PA)

There is specific advice for people who are self-isolating due to having caught covid-19 or suspect that they have it.

All personal waste, such as tissues, are double-bagged and kept separate from other waste for 72 hours, before being placed in the black bin.

I need to get rid of a mattress, will the council take it?

They will - but for a fee.

You cannot place large domestic items such as furniture, white goods or rolls of carpet in the green or black bins.

Worcester City Council will take large items if you book a chargeable service online.

You can also take them to one of the household recycling sites.
