Ten new opportunities created as tech company opens new site in Droitwich.

Armstrong Fluid Technology opened its new systems manufacturing centre at Pointon Way, on September 9, 2021.

The company has already recruited 16 new members of staff since announcing its move to Droitwich, and now intends to hire four more employees including mechanical and electrical fitters, welders and store personnel.

Armstrong is also expanding its apprenticeship programme and intends to take on six more young people.

The aim of these programmes is to combine college courses with practical experience, with a view to a full-time role at the company at the end of it.

Six apprentices who joined the programme in previous years have now gone full-time with the company.

Simon Parker, UK Country Lead for Armstrong Fluid Technology, said: “This is an extremely proud day for our company.

“Armstrong’s success is in no small part due to the expertise and commitment of our Midlands team, and we are delighted to have retained our highly skilled and valued workforce when relocating to Droitwich.

“This is also an exciting time for us, as we are embarking on plans for further expansion. Now that all of the adaptations have been made to the factory, we are fully operational at our Droitwich site.

“We look forward to welcoming new employees and apprentices to join our workforce over the coming months.”

The company manufactures packaged heating, ventilation and air-conditioning solutions and announced its decision to relocate to Droitwich earlier this year after outgrowing its previous site in Halesowen.

The new factory occupies over 69,000 square feet of space and features a warehouse and specially-designed loading bays.

Jason Kee, trade commissioner of the High Commission of Canada, attended the launch event to cut the ribbon.

Other special guests included CEO Todd Rief, councillor Richard Morrris and Phoebe Dawson of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership.

Mr Parked added: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome our guests to the Droitwich Systems Manufacturing Centre today, to celebrate this milestone in our history.”
