WORK is well underway to build a Greggs and Costa Coffee on a retail park in Worcester.

The metal frame for the three retail units is now in place on Blackpole Retail Park, Blackpole Road, as the buildings begin to take shape.

A tanning shop will join the two cafes on the retail park which also boasts an M&S Foodhall, McDonald's and Pets at Home.

It will be the city's fifth Gregg's with the High Street set to get a bigger shop when the bakery moves stores later this year.

More than 20 jobs will be created by the stores according to the application to Worcester City Council.

The new units will be in a 397 square metre ‘pod’ next to the M&S Foodhall, which opened in 2019, replacing 31 car parking spaces.

Costa would move into the biggest space with Greggs taking over one of the other units.

The lost car parking spaces would be replaced elsewhere in the retail park.

There will also be two outdoor seating areas built outside Costa and Greggs.
