THESE are the people from Worcester who were in court for breaking covid lockdown rules.

People were found to have held illegal gatherings or caught out and about without a good reason when the stay at home rules were in place.

They were prosecuted under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) regulations.

The cases were heard in August at Worcester Magistrates Court but relate to incidents earlier this year when the country was under tier 4 lockdown because of covid.

Under the tier 4 restrictions, people were told to stay at home unless travel was essential.

Households were not allowed to mix but people could meet with one other person outdoors.

William Burford, 40, of Moor Street, Worcester was prosecuted for living in a tier 4 area and leaving the place they were living without reasonable excuse.

The incident happened on January 21.

Burford was fined £660 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 as well as costs of £90.

Luke Lewis, 22, was prosecuted for leaving the place he was living in Tintern Avenue without reasonable excuse on January 23 this year.

He pleaded guilty and was fined £440.

Lewis was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and told to pay costs of £90.

Peter Milnes, 27, has to pay over £800 after participating in a gathering at his home address in James Close, Worcester.

The gathering of two or more people took place on January 17.

Milnes was fined £660.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £90.

Cerys Devney, of Mulberry Terrace, Worcester, was fined after leaving her home without reasonable excuse.

The 30-year-old was fined £660 for the incident on January 17.

Devney must also pay a £66 victim surcharge and costs of £90.00.

Bethany Dixon, 19, was in court for participating in a gathering of two or more people in a tier 4 area.

The gathering took place at her home address in James Close, Worcester.

The teenager was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £90.

The total was £816.
