A SHOCKED resident returned to their home to find two suspected burglars inside. 

The alleged burglars fled after the homeowner challenged them at their home in Northwick Avenue at 9.45pm last night. 

Police have launched an appeal for help to find the two people, who ran off towards the Barbourne Works building. 

A spokesman from South Worcestershire Proactive CID said officers believe the intruders were men and scenes of crime officers are currently examining the scene. 

It has not yet been confirmed whether anything has been stolen. 

Posting on Facebook, South Worcestershire Proactive CID said: "Detectives are currently investigating a report of a burglary which occurred at a residential property in Northwick Avenue, Worcester.

At around 9.45pm on the 19th September 2021 the homeowner returned to the property to find two persons inside. 

"Once challenged the two intruders fled the scene and ran towards the Barbourne Works building. 

"Their descriptions are one wearing a light coloured top and the other a darker coloured top. 

"Did you see any suspicious persons in the Northwick Avenue area at around 9.30pm on the 19th September 2021?

"Did you see two people running around 9.45pm in the area? 

"Do you live in the area and have any CCTV footage of people running near to your property?"
