IF you've ever prepared a Christmas meal for a crowd, you know it can be downright exhausting.

1. The Harvester, Bath Road

A three course dinner here is just £49.99.

The Camembert tartlet is the most festive starter on the menu; it is topped with mixed spice shallots and a cranberry chutney.

The hand carved roast turkey main comes with all of the trimmings you can think of; roast potatoes, pigs in blankets and honey-roast parsnips are just some of the side you can expect.

 

2.The Barn Owl , Berkeley Way

A three course Christmas Day dinner at this pub is just £46.99.

Some of the starters include a red onion, brie and cranberry tart or a classic French onion soup.

Along with the classic turkey dinner, a candied nut roast, champagne salmon and garlic mushrooms sir loin steak are some of the main dishes available.

If you have room there are six puddings to choose from on the menu- including Christmas pudding, mint chocolate gateau and cheese and biscuits.

3. Miller and Carter, Cathedral Square

After being closed last year for Christmas due to Covid-19 cases this steak chain is back with a bank offering hungry diners an indulgent five course meal from £77.95

Starters include pan-seared wild Atlantic scallops and king prawns and a baked cheese soufflé.

Their famous steak is also on offer alongside hand-carved turkey breast or grilled seabass.

There are five sweet treats on offer including a deliciously festive mixed fruit and kumquat Christmas pudding.

 

4. Ye Olde Talbot, Friar Street

This popular pub is offering guests a 3 course set menu, petit fours and a glass of prosecco for £66.99.

The Greene King chain has plenty of options for vegan and vegetarian diners including beetroot wellington and a beetroot wellington.

For the meat eaters it's hand-carved roast turkey and honey-roast ham.

Dessert includes treats like Christmas pudding or a chocolate and salted caramel choux bun.

5. The Swan, Whittington

The most expensive Christmas meal on our list is The Swan which works out at £80 per person for a three course meal.

Diners are greeted with a glass of prosecco on arrival and can then choose from a large selection of starters, mains and desserts.

Some of the most mouthwatering options include, duck and orange parfait, beef wellington and a triple chocolate cheesecake.

Guests can finish of the meal with teas and coffees with mince pies.

 

6. The Whitehouse Hotel, The Tything

This city centre hotel is putting on a four course Christmas luncheon at £69 per head.

There are plenty of options for vegan and vegetarian options on offer including a spiced chickpea fritter with a cucumber and minted soya yoghurt, roasted squash, red onion and cranberry tagine served with a parsley and lemon cous cous and Christmas plum pudding draped with brandy sauce.

All guests are offered a poached plaice fillet filled with a prawn & dill mousse coated in a white wine cream with a champagne sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main.
