Staffordshire bull terrier cross who has never lived indoors looking for new home

Staffie cross Tweed has not had the best start to his life and spent what he knows of it confined to a small space without experiencing the world around him. 

The dog, aged somewhere between two to five years old, has never lived inside a home before.

Evesham's Dog Trust is now trying to find Tweed a new home and said living indoors will all be new to him.

"He will definitely need some guidance while he learns to adapt to the life of a well loved pooch."

The charity, based in Wickhamford, described him as always looking for his next adventure, and really loves toys he can get his teeth into.

His favourite tickle spot is on his neck and he always loves chasing toys around.

"He is a 100mph companion who is also extremely bright.

"For someone seeking an energetic and entertaining companion, Tweed is the perfect lad."

Because of his sad start to life, Tweed needs a patient and understanding new owner preferably with some bull breed experience.

The staffie cross will need help to adjust to the hustle and bustle of daily life.

"He can be wary when first meeting new people and can mask this worry by being over excitable and boisterous, when in actual fact Tweed is a dog who very much lacks in confidence and social skills with both humans and other animals."

Dogs Trust is looking for an adult-only home for Tweed where he can be the only pet.

A quieter rural home in a low dog populated area will be the perfect match for the handsome boy.

The charity added that, particularly in the early days, it will be important to implement training plans for when visitors stop by, and for helping him learn to settle when he is supposed to.

Ongoing behavioural support will be on offer to Tweed's new family.
