A motorcyclist has been left with horrific injuries following a crash in Worcester.

Lee Sharp, 32, suffered several serious injuries to his foot following a crash in Martin Hussingtree on Sunday September 26.

Lee’s partner, Hannah Drew, says his foot has been so badly injured that it may soon be amputated.

She said: “It has blown everything apart to be honest.

“The road to recovery for my partner is a long and no doubt, extremely painful one.

“His entire foot has been degloved - meaning the skin has been completely removed.

“He has a hole in his foot, broken bones, destroyed toes and one toe has been completely ripped off.

“Over the next couple of weeks he is undergoing skin and bone grafts, vessel fusion and flesh reconstruction.”

She added: “If any of these reconstructive surgeries are rejected by his body it will be likely that he will have to have the foot amputated.

“He will now be classed as disabled for the rest of his life.”

Lee, a factory worker from Droitwich, is currently being treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and his partner now worries that they will not be able to cope with him out of work.

Lee and Hannah have three children together, all under the age of ten.

She said: “Lee was working full time. He is now going to be out of work for the foreseeable future, if not permanently.

“We were already struggling to cope with his full-time wage.

“I have no shame in saying I don't have a clue how I'm going to cope in holding the household together, running it, parenting my children, cooking, cleaning and caring for Lee when he does finally return home.”

Hannah has set up a fundraiser to help her family cope while Lee is out of work, you can find more on this here.

West Midlands Ambulance confirmed that two ambulances went to the crash along with a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic.

A spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.23pm on Sunday 26th September to reports of an RTC at the junction of Pershore Lane and Droitwich Road, Martin Hussingtree, Worcester.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care paramedic attended.

“Crews arrived to find a motorcyclist, a man, who had sustained serious injuries in a collision with another vehicle.

“He was given trauma care on scene before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
