OWNERS of the Spar in Worcester insist they will be staying open to customers as their building is put up for sale.

Rightmove listed the convenience store and three maisonettes in Cranham Drive as up for sale on Monday September 28.

The listing stated the property was understood as being 'sold with vacant possession.'

This means that there must be no remaining residents or tenants at the homes, and no belongings other than those that have agreed to be left in the contract.

However this has since been removed from the listing following an article in the Worcester News yesterday.

Residents and staff members responded to the news with shock and confusion having not been told the building was up for sale.

According to Mark Titley, Property Director at A.F Blackmore & Sons, the Spar is most definitely staying open and staff and tenants will be able to stay where they are.

He added: "For us it is just means we will have a new landlord."

You can view the listing on Rightmove for all the details on the sale.

The asking price is £949,999 and The Online Property Agency is now taking viewings from potential buyers.
