WORK on a new county road bypass is now underway.
A new photo has been shared online showing the pillars for the new Pershore Northern Link Road.
This is part of Worcestershire County Council's ongoing scheme to improve road-links throughout the county.
When finished, the area will have a new bridge over the railway, linking Wyre Road to the A44 Wyre Piddle Bypass.
These works are part of the wider Pershore Infrastructure Improvements Scheme, which aims to reduce congestion, improve traffic links and enhance cycling and walking routes in and around the Pershore area.
Originally started in January, the scheme has already seen work carried out at Wyre Road to make improvements to the cycling and walking provision.
The works started in July and will include the addition of a cycle/footway from Wyre Road roundabout to Station Road on the northern side of Wyre Road, the installation of a new kerb line, improvements to drainage and better street lighting.
The scheme is estimated to cost £11.6million and will be funded by organisations including Worcestershire County Council, Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and Wychavon District Council.
According to the council, the full scheme will be completed by the summer of 2022.
