CITY foodies will be in for a treat with two new cafes set to open their doors in Reindeer Court.

Izzy's Ices and Donuts and Jaks Coffee Shop will be opening in the shopping centre off The Shambles.

Steve and Mariegold Arthington, from Warndon Villages, Worcester, were looking forward to welcoming customers to Izzy's at their grand opening on Saturday (October 9).

Mr Arthington said: "Things have been a bit crazy but we are so excited about the cafe opening, it is going to be great.

"We have quality products that adults will like but we are clearly aimed at children so when you come in you can see it is a fun and colourful environment.

"We're really interested to see how the community take to us.

"I'm feeling nervous because it is a scary thing to take on the financial commitment.

"It's like stepping off a cliff and hoping everything will be okay but that is up to us and our products."

The couple have two children, Izzy, right, and Charlotte, five, and have been planning the takeaway cafe since January.

Mrs Arthington has beena carer at Perry Manor Care Home but wanted a change in career following the covid pandemic.

Worcester News:

The opening will be the first of two new businesses to open with Jaks Coffee Shop saying it will be 'opening soon'.

Mr Arthington said Reindeer Court was the perfect place to open the shop.

"It's really nice here and I really like the culture of the place.

"Town is changing and some of the big shops like Debenhams have closed and you have a lot of smaller businesses and retailers open up.

"There are coffee shops in Reindeer Court and lots of independent shops, it's artisanal, I think it is a wonderful place."
