THIEVES smashed the windows of a car parked in Battenhall making away with a bag full of climbing gear.
The car was parked on Timberdine Avenue when the thieves smashed two windows of the light blue Fiat after 12.30am on Saturday.
They stole around £300 worth of climbing gear which was kept in a navy Karimor rucksack.
A suspicious person was spotted on the driveway of a home at about 11.30pm next to where the car was parked.
The items stolen were a ladies medium, sky blue Black Diamond harness, a Pretzel GriGri 2 belay device and a Black Diamond bug belay device.
They also took blue/grey size six 5.10 climbing shoes, a lime green Black Diamond chalk bag, lime green, a purple Gridlock carabiner and two silver/green carabiners.
