Paul Nixon will be the guest speaker when Worcestershire Cricket Society’s winter evenings resume in the Graeme Hick Pavilion after a 20 month gap because of COVID-19 restrictions on Tuesday (October 12).

Nixon is the current Head Coach at Leicestershire and was at New Road only two weeks ago for the final LV=Insurance County Championship match of the season.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Nixon scored a total of 23,402 runs and claimed 1,573 catches and stumpings.

Nixon appeared in 19 ODIs, including the 2007 ICC World Cup, when only Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood scored more runs for England, and one T20I.

He helped Leicestershire to win two County Championship titles in 1996 and 1998, and the T20 Blast in 2004, 2006 and 2011, and was appointed captain in 2007.

Nixon twice coached Jamaica Tallawahs to the Caribbean Premier League title before returning to Leicestershire as Head Coach four years ago.

A Society membership costs £15 (single) and £25 (double) and non members can attend the winter cricket evenings for an admission fee of £5 per evening (7.30pm start).
