A 27-year-old man with a sexual interest in 'domination' says the rape allegations against him are 'wicked' lies.

Daniel Jones, of Hancocks Lane, Welland, near Malvern denies two counts of rape, each said to have been committed against a different woman.

The first rape is said to have taken place against a married mum in her Norfolk home in April last year and the other against a second woman in his own home in Welland after he picked her up from Weston-super-Mare.

The second alleged rape is said by the prosecution to have taken place in January this year while Jones was under investigation for the first. Two police officers discovered the second complainant in his home when they called in to see why the battery on his electronic tag was running low. The body worn footage was played to the jury.

Caroline Goodwin QC had described Jones as 'manipulative', 'sexually selfish' and into 'domination and 'strangulation' in her opening.

She cross-examined the defendant on Wednesday, as previously reported. Speaking of the second allegation, Miss Goodwin, asked Jones questions about the alleged rape in his Welland cottage.

"You never got her in a position where she felt the least bit uncomfortable?" said Miss Goodwin QC.

"That's true" said Jones.

"You never made her feel like she was doing something she didn't want to do?" said the prosecutor.

"That's right" replied Jones.

Jones accepted the description of the second complainant as 'nervous' because of a previous 'horrible sexual experience'. He was asked if it was her that had initiated sex and he said 'yes'.

Miss Goodwin said: "She has told this jury that what you did during sex with her was to choke her."

Jones said: "That's not true."

Miss Goodwin continued: "And you spanked her."

Jones replied: "Yes, I spanked her."

Miss Goodwin said: "And spanking is something you like to do."

Jones answered 'yes'.

Miss Goodwin went on to refer back to the first alleged rape in Norfolk where he was asked about whether he had put a belt around that complainant's neck.

"I think so, yes" said Jones.

"Is she telling lies when she says you choked her?" asked the barrister.

"Yes she is" replied Jones.

Miss Goodwin went on to describe how the second complainant had 'just happened to say that one of the things you did to her during sex that she didn't like was choking'.

"That was just a lucky guess was it?"

"Yes" said Jones.

Referring to the second complainant, Miss Goodwin asked if she was 'lying when she said your weight was bearing down on her?' Jones said 'yes'.

Miss Goodwin added 'that she couldn't say no - that is just a fabrication on her part?'

"Yes it was" said Jones.

"That would be a wicked thing for her to do" said Miss Goodwin.

"Yes, it would be a wicked thing to do, yes," said Jones.

The trial continues.
