THREE people have been arrested after a van mounted a pavement and ploughed into a group of friends in the early hours of Saturday.

Police said two vans were reported to have followed the group of friends while they were walking home when one of the vans mounted the pavement and struck two of the victims.

The second van then stopped and a person got out of the vehicle and allegedly assaulted two of the group.

Two teenage men were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the crash and a third person was assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and common assault and a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

All three have been bailed until Friday, November 5.

West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said it was called to reports of a collision between a van and pedestrians on Manning Road at 2.34am on Saturday.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene.
