WESTFIELDS bounced back in the Hellenic Premier by beating Lydney Town comfortably 3-0.

After suffering a disappointing defeat at Fairford Town last weekend Fields' manager Phi Glover got the reaction he wanted from his young side.

However, the hosts had to defend in the early stages and keeper lan Havard made a smart save to deny an effort.

Teenager Harrison Summers gave his side a 14th minute lead outpacing the defence before firing home.

Westfields then had several chances to have increased the lead but Cawley Cox and Josh Hunt both failed from good opportunities.

Just before the break Fields doubled their lead with Hunt taking the ball in his stride before riffling a shot high into the net.

After the break Lydney came out looking to pull a goal but it was Fields who put the game to bed with Cox receiving a pass from Summers and side stepping the visitors keeper and sliding home to make it 3-0.

Fields sensed more goals and the Lydney keeper saved well from Hunt before Summers shot over the bar when well placed .

Westfields gave a debut to new signing Sean Powell from Builth Wells and continued to dominate play.

Hunt got free from his marker and through on goal but his shot flew inches wide of the upright as the tie ended 3-0.
