THE body discovered on the side of the M5 near Halesowen was a woman, police have confirmed.
The woman's body was discovered on the M5 northbound just before 9.40am yesterday (Sunday, October 17).
Her death is not believed to be suspicious.
The northbound carriageway was closed between junction two for Oldbury and Junction three for Quinton, after the woman's body was found near Spies Lane bridge.
West Midlands Police were at the scene near to the Spies Lane bridge, Halesowen after being called just before 9.40am as they establish what's happened and identify the person.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Police said at the time: "The road is likely to remain closed for some time. Drivers should find alternative routes and follow the instructions of police @HighwaysWMIDS at the scene.
"The charity @samaritans is available 24/7 if you need someone to listen."
