JAY ‘The Ram’ Reidy is set for a quick return to the ring after storming to a stoppage win in Swindon.

The 24-year-old from Hereford hit too hard for Mike Pyman and stopped him in the third round of their light-heavyweight fight.

Next is a fight in Northampton a week on Saturday (October 30).

Reidy makes the trip in confident mood after making it back-to-back wins in his ring career.

Pyman was strong and willing, but Reidy was more polished, harder to hit and he punched harder.

Reidy was quicker to settle behind a long jab and when Pyman looked to up the pace in the second, they traded punches.

Reidy landed a thumping right hand that made Pyman break off the exchange and go on the back foot.

Reidy went on to drop him in the dying seconds of the round.

The Hereford fighter kept his cool in the third round and the force of a left hook left Pyman dazed and defenceless and the referee jumped in to hand him a standing ‘eight’ count.

On the resumption, Reidy soon drove Pyman into a neutral corner and got through with enough heavy shots to make the referee jump in.

Kingsland middleweight Charlie Sankey is in action in Nuneaton on Saturday night.
