POLICE say no one has been arrested or charged over a crash which saw a pedestrian knocked down in Worcester.

West Mercia Police confirmed no action has been taken so far over the incident in Deansway last Wednesday, which saw the woman hit by a car.

This resulted in the approach to the city via London Road being closed for most of the evening.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the incident and took the patient to the Major Trauma Centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The woman was said to be in a 'serious' condition.
