AN MP paid tribute to ambulance staff, referring to them as "heroes", when he visited staff in Droitwich and got behind the wheel of a rapid response car.
Peter Luff, MP for Mid Worcestershire, visited Droitwich Ambulance Station to see the eight new ambulances and four new rapid response vehicles, which have been bought by West Midlands Ambulance Service for use across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Mr Luff also met trust chief executive Anthony Marsh and was given an inside view of one of the rapid response vehicles, based at Droitwich.
Mr Luff said: "The paramedics are true heroes of the public sector to me.
"The people of Worcestershire owe a great debt to their local ambulance crews and the paramedics who do a great job every day. Last year they played a magnificent role during the floods and it is great to see here, first hand, that they are receiving the best possible equipment to help them continue in their excellent work."
