A man still remains on police bail after being arrested in August in relation to an alleged attempted rape in Malvern.

Police previously confirmed a man in his 30s, who is from the Barnards Green area, was arrested on August 23 at around 2pm, but had since been released as enquiries into the incident continued. 

A spokesman for the West Mercia Police, said: "The man arrested remains on bail and enquiries are ongoing."

Officers were unable to confirm to Worcester News whether they are any closer to charging either him or any other individual for the alleged offence.

A handcuffed man was seen being searched by police officers at the roadside near a cordoned off area before being put in the back of a police van and taken away on August 23. 

Police confirmed a woman was attacked at around 8pm near Barnards Green and Court Road on Sunday, August 22.

They had previously appealed for witnesses who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area between 4pm and 8pm on that Sunday evening.

Detective Inspector Ed Slough said: "We understand incidents such as this are extremely concerning to the community and we would like to reassure the public that there will be an increased number of patrols in the area while the investigation continues."
