MICHELLE Robinson always had a creative streak as a child, but it’s only been in the last four years that she found an outlet for that creativity in the business world.

Her Creatively Wired business has been running for four years in Upton-upon-Severn, where in her own words “I create fabulously funky jewellery, homeware and gift items”.

All of her products are handmade by Michelle in her home workshop.

She said: “I began making jewellery in 2017 and fell in love with it. It reignited my creative streak that I always embraced as a child but lost somewhere along the way. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else!”

In September 2020, Creatively Wired was chosen as one of Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday (SBS) winners.

Michelle said: “Every Sunday, Theo runs a competition on Twitter looking for small businesses with personality, a great business idea, and the potential to scale. And he chose mine!

“ I was, and still am, so proud that someone with his business acumen could see potential in my business.”

And Michelle’s influence is also felt outside the world of jewellery.

“I was asked by Dave Dunbar (of Purple Swan Photography) to create a purple swan necklace for his wife for Christmas last year.

“His wife absolutely loved the necklace, and Dave loved it so much that he asked if he could use the design as his logo image for his photography business.

“Of course, I happily agreed. I love creating bespoke pieces and I never imagined that one of my designs would end up being a company logo! proud that someone with his business acumen could see potential in my business.”

Michelle’s love of funky jewellery began when she was young. “I didn’t realise it at the time but, in a world where I was desperately trying to fit it, my jewellery was my way of expressing myself without standing out too much.

“As I got older, I learnt to embrace my differences and quirkiness. And through my creations, I want to help others to express their individuality and to embrace their uniqueness too. I love jewellery (obviously!) and how it can speak volumes about your personality. And I have since realised that this expression of someone’s personality doesn’t need to be confined to jewellery.

“Which is why I am continually expanding my range so that you can express your individual styles in more ways.”
