TRAFFIC is being delayed in and around Droitwich after a two-car crash.

Police announced a crash had happened on the A38 Roman Way in Droitwich between the Westlands Estate and Chateau Impney.

Traffic is said to be heavy in the area, so drivers are advised to find an alternate route.

Fire service teams used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove one person trapped in their vehicle following the crash, which involved two cars.

The OPU Worcestershire twitter account confirmed the news, saying: "We are in attendance at a road traffic collision on the A38 Roman Way in Droitwich between the Westlands Estate and Chateau Impney.

"Build up of traffic is heavy so please avoid the area and seek alternative routes."

As a result of the crash, bus services in Droitwich are being re-routed.

First Worcestershire confirmed it, with a spokesman saying: "Services 144/144A are being delayed by an RTC at Chateau Impney

"Services are diverting via Salt Way and Hanbury Road in both directions.

"Stops between Queen Street Droitwich and Puddle Wharf will not be served until further notice."
