TWO adults and a child were taken to hospital after a crash on a main road in Droitwich this morning.

Firefighters had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to remove one person trapped in their car.

Two cars crashed at the junction of the B4065 and A38 Roman Way, near Chateau Impney, today (Thursday) at just before 8am.

Here's how we reported the crash

The man, woman and child were taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with minor injuries which were not believed to be serious.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 7.58am to reports of a two car RTC at the junction of the B4065 and A38 in Droitwich.

"We sent three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car.

"We have treated three patients, a man, woman and child for minor injuries not believed to be serious, and they’ve all been conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.”

The crashed caused long queues of traffic in the area and led to bus services being re-routed.

This morning OPU Worcestershire said: "We are in attendance at a road traffic collision on the A38 Roman Way in Droitwich between the Westlands Estate and Chateau Impney.

"Build up of traffic is heavy so please avoid the area and seek alternative routes."
