A NEW coffee shop will be opening its doors in the city centre just in time for the Victorian Christmas Fayre.

Jak's Coffee Shop will be opening its doors on Saturday, November 27 in Reindeer Court on the day Worcester turns on its Christmas lights.

Work is currently going on to transform the empty units into the brand new coffee shops with plans to open as a wine bar in the evening from January.

Worcester News:

Owner Andy Reynolds, from Kidderminster, said: "I've been working from home for the last five and a half years and I thought it was time to do something different.

"We have had people say its another coffee shop but ou don't see people carrying bags of clothing in town anymore because everyone does it online.

"We will be opening as wine bar too after Christmas and quiz nights as well which is something different from what other coffee shops are offering.

"That will bring something different and unique from what a lot of the other businesses are offering."

Worcester News:

Jak's is the latest business to open in Reindeer Court over the past few weeks with Izzie's Donut and Ices opening its doors a few weeks ago and other units under offer.

"There's a lot of footfall around here through Reindeer Court and it is going to get a lot busier with the Victorian Christmas Fayre on the way.

"We're also going to open for late night shopping too.

Worcester News:

"Hopefully we will get our alcohol licence after Christmas and be able to open until 11pm."

Two full time and one part time staff members have been recruited for the coffee shop which will offer a free doughnut with every hot drink on its first day of opening.

Mr Reynolds said he has used local businesses for the constructions and supplier of the shop including Coffee Masters in Holt and Worcester-based Rach's Cakes.
