Stampeding cows presented police officers with an unprecedented challenge.

On Monday, November 23, West Mercia Police's Road Safety team took to social media to share one of the more unusual incidents they encountered.

The police shared a video on Twitter of the cows heading towards them, with many quick to turn to puns.

The police account's tweet read: "Speed enforcement in our rural communities isn’t always what you’d expect.

"Gives a new meaning to our Com’moo’nity enforcement programme."

One person, David Gallagher, asked if the police were able to get the ear tags off any of the speeders.

The Road Safety Team responded: "Yes, they can expect to hear from us in the next 14 days regarding their moo-ving traffic offence."

Meanwhile traffic officer, Dave Harford, commented: "Oh come on, moooove them along."
