A Worcester man accused of cultivating cannabis was found with 45-calibre pistol rounds, police say.

Ben Barnes faces four charges, including possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

The bench heard how police found a plant of cannabis they allege Barnes, aged 37, was cultivating on Sunday, August 8.

During the search, officers found ammunition for a 45-calibre pistol.

He is also accused of assaulting a youth occasioning actual bodily harm on the same date.

Magistrates heard how Barnes is also accused of being in possession of cannabis just two days after his initial arrest on Tuesday, August 10.

Barnes, of Black Lane South, Worcester appeared at Worcester Justice Centre on Friday, November 19, indicated a plea of guilty to all four charges on Monday, August 16.

The case was adjourned, and he has been remanded on bail until the next hearing on Thursday, December 16.
