THE city's newest Costa Coffee has opened its doors in a new build cafe on a retail park.

Costa is the first of three new businesses to open up on Blackpole Retail Park.

Customers got their first look at the newly built coffee shop when it opened its doors for the first time on Thursday (December 2).

The coffee shop has created 12 new jobs on the retail park which also has an M&S Foodhall, McDonald's and Currys.

A Costa Coffee spokeswoman said: “We’re delighted to confirm that a brand new Costa Coffee store has opened on Blackpole Retail Park, Worcester.

"The store has created 12 jobs and will allow for members of the local community to sit-in, relax and enjoy their favourite barista-crafted Costa coffee.

"We look forward to being an active member of the Worcester community.”

It is Worcester's seventh Costa with cafes on the High Street, Foregate and at the city's two Tesco stores in Warndon Villages and St Peter's.

Joining the coffee shop will be a Greggs and a tanning shop though there is no date for either of the shops opening yet.

The new businesses will be in a 397 square metre ‘pod’ next to the M&S Foodhall, which opened in 2019, replacing 31 car parking spaces.

Costa has move into the biggest space with Greggs taking over one of the other end unit and the tanning shop in the middle.

The lost car parking spaces would be replaced elsewhere in the retail park.

There will also be two outdoor seating areas built outside Costa and Greggs.
