A WORCESTERSHIRE school has been nominated for a top prize at Worcestershire Education Awards.

Bowbrook House School has been nominated the School of the Year Award by a proud parent in the community.

Mother to a year 8 student at the school, Ruth Clements, said: “My daughter has moved there in April 2021 part way through the year 7 and into her year 8.

“They have cared for her, watched over her and generally made her transition so happy, and is now a more confident learner, loves the school and is infinitely happier.

“They care beyond measure about each individual child, I have nothing but praise for this tremendous school.”

The mixed independent school teaches around 200 pupils aged 3 to 16, with around 30 teaching staff.

Headmaster of Bowbrook House School, Chris Allan, said: “We are delighted and honoured that parents have taken the time and trouble to contact you and to recognise the extra mile that all of the school staff have gone to an incredibly trying and testing 12 months.

“To be the 'figurehead' of such a school is an honour, and together along with the parents, I owe them all a great debt of gratitude.

“All have been tireless in their efforts to support the children through the pandemic and of course to support me!

“It is an honour as I know there are many good schools in the county and to be recognised in this way in such an excellent initiative will certainly lift everyone's spirits.”
