THREE areas of the city are in the highest category Covid 'hotspot' category after a rise in cases across Worcester.

And Public Health England's (PHE) coronavirus map shows all areas of the city are now in the third highest category or higher.

Areas with infection rates above 800 cases per 100,000 people are placed in the highest black hotspot category on the coronavirus map.

Warndon West is the latest to move into this category with an infection rate of 812.0 per 100,000 and 44 new cases in the week up to December 3.

Staying in the top category are:

King George's Field which has an infection rate of 897.0 per 100,000, with 80 cases.

Northwick which has an infection rate of 948.0 per 100,000 with 76 cases - the highest in the city.

Areas with infection rates between 400 and 799 cases per 100,000 people are placed in the second highest purple 'hotspot' category by the PHE. Moving into this category are:

Warndon East which has an infection rate of 763.4 per 100,000 with 48 cases recorded that week.

Barbourne and Rainbow Hill which has an infection rate of 759.6 per 100,000, with 61 cases.

Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood with an infection rate of 477.9 per 100,000, with 31 cases.

Staying in this category are:

Lyppard Grange which has an infection rate of 740.9 per 100,000, with 44 cases recorded.

Lower Wick and Bromwich Road which has an infection rate of 456.4 per 100,000, with 37 cases recorded.

Worcester Town South which has an infection rate of 500.1 per 100,000, with 37 cases.

Dines Green and St John's with an infection rate of 435.0 per 100,000 with 38 cases.

Battenhall and Diglis which has an infection rate of 667.0 per 100,000, with 56 cases.

Infection rates of between 200 and 399 cases are placed in the third highest blue ‘hotspot’ category on the coronavirus map.

Moving into this category are:

Worcester Town North with an infection rate of 312.5 per 100,000, with 24 cases.

Henwick with an infection rate of 379.3 per 100,000, and 21 cases - which is the lowest rate in the city.

Infection rates of between 200 and 399 cases are placed in the third highest blue ‘hotspot’ category on the coronavirus map.

Moving into this category is Ronkswood and Nunnery Wood with 215.8 cases per 100,000 and 14 cases recorded.
