A WORCESTER  woman caught on camera as she spat at and racially abused a Wetherspoons doorman is set to appear in court on Monday.

Sharna Walker is to be sentenced for racially aggrivated common assault and criminal damage after pleading guilty to both charges in September.

The 25-year-old admitted shouting racial slurs at doorman Tristan Price when he refused her entry to Wetherspoon's Figure of Eight bar in May.

A video showing Walker pushing the security guard, swearing and shouting obscenities was posted on social media following the incident, which took place in Birmingham's Broad Street leisure district.

Footage showed Walker then spat at him outside the bar before causing damage to a glass panel on the pub's door.

Walker, who subsequently went viral on social media, heard she could face jail after pleading guilty at the city’s magistrates’ court.

She was previously due to be sentenced on October 27, but her attendance at the hearing was "excused" and the case was adjourned.

District Judge Wayne said while "she is charged with serious matters, she is a vulnerable person."

He added that he had ordered a pre sentence report to be produced for the sentencing.

"The court would like to have all the available information, there's no guarantee to the outcome," he said.

"Given the mental health issues I will suggest, no disrespect to my colleagues, it is listed in front of a district judge. I would rather deal with it sooner rather than later."

Walker has been on unconditional bail since the last hearing was adjourned.

She also remains banned from any club, bar or pub in Broad Street.

Sharna Walker of Woodhouse Close, Worcester, will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 13 for sentencing.
