A Droitwich racist has been jailed for launching a verbal attack at a police officer.

Alan Bonehill was sentenced to 12 weeks behind bars after pleading guilty to aiming racially aggravated insults at the officer in September.

Magistrates found the offence was "so serious" because it was "aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending".

He also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of causing £100 worth of damage to a West Midland's police vehicle, although no separate penalty was imposed.

Bonehill was kept handcuffed for the duration of the court case.

The 33-year-old has also been ordered to pay a £128 surcharge to fund victim services which is to be paid by February 16, 2022.

Alan Bonehill of The Holloway, Droitwich was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 8.
