A CITY road has been closed off this evening because a burst water pipe has caused flooding.

Windsor Avenue in St John's is closed because of flooding believed to be caused by a burst water pipe tonight (Monday).

Worcestershire Highways has put in an emergency call to Severn Trent Water to investigate the flooding.

A team of Severn Trent engineers are expected on site today (Tuesday) to begin repairs on the pipe.

A Severn Trent spokesman said: “We’d like to thank customers for reporting a leaky water pipe to us on Windsor Avenue.

"We’re sending a team of engineers there today (Tuesday), so we can start the repair and get the road returned to normal as quickly as possible.

"We’re really sorry for any disruption this is causing.”
