FOODIES hungry for chicken coated in Peri-Peri sauce may be disappointed to find their favourite restaurant is closed.

Worcester's branch of Nando's has told customers they will not be open until 4pm today (Tuesday).

Usually, the Portuguese restaurant would have opened its doors at 11.30am.

A post on Facebook says they have closed for "unforeseen circumstances".

Worcester News:

A spokesman for Nando's explained it is due to two members of the team testing positive for covid-19.

A few members of the team have also been told to isolate due to being close contacts of people testing positive for covid.

The reduced hours are expected to last for the next couple of days and the restaurant should be back to full service by Friday.

The spokesman said: "I can confirm [the Worcester restaurant] will be offering take away only during the day and opening at 4pm for eat-in service for the next couple of days.

"They hope to have full service back up and running from Friday.

"This is due to a few members of the team being told to isolate due to being close contacts and two members of the team testing positive."

In August, the branch had to close because of a shortage of chicken.

There was a national supply issue with poultry which forced it to offer takeaway only.

Worcester News has contacted Nandos and will update the story as soon as it responds.
