POLICE have been searching paths along the river Severn in Worcester for a missing person this evening (Monday).

Officers are searching the city centre including the riverside near Diglis for the person at just before 5pm.

Worcester News has requested more information and will update the story when we receive a comment.

The Worcester Safer Neighbourhoods Team account tweeted: "Out joining the search for a missing person round Worcester."

PCSO Swallow, a new PCSO for Worcester city centre, has been sharing updates on her varied day as part of Neighbourhood Policing Week

She tweeted from the Worcester SNTs account: "I am going to take you through a day as a PCSO.

"I will be posting every hour to update you all on what a PCSO does."

Her first incident was to call into a block of flats plagued by drug users.

Residents had contacted police because drug users had been into a property.

PCSO Swallow said: "Myself and PCSO Williscroft attended the block of flats to reassure the residents, collect evidence left and identify the potential offenders."

A high visibility foot patrol around Worcester city centre was then carried out to 'help prevent crime and get to know what is happening in the community'.

PCSO Swallow then joined in the missing person hunt before completing reassurance visits to domestic abuse victims.

She added this was "to help them feel safer and give them support".
