One of his co-defendants - Alim Ahmed - was found with more than £3,000 of class A drugs inside his buttocks as part of the investigation.

Rippard, now of Gisborne Gardens, Hampton, Evesham further denies possession of cannabis with intent to supply, possession of a lock knife found in his then girlfriend's car and possession of 10.5g of crack cocaine found at his home address after a police search.

The defendant, who had been living at Rail Ground in Pershore at the time of his arrest, was a passenger in a black Mercedes stopped by police in Three Springs Road, Pershore on December 5, 2018.

Jason Aris, prosecuting, said the Mercedes was stopped by officers in an unmarked car at around 4.20pm directly opposite the BP Garage. Drugs, cash and a number of mobile phones were seized. The court heard that two other men in the car - Mohammed Hussain and Alim Ahmed - had already admitted drugs offences but that Rippard denied any involvement.

Rippard was asked if he had any drugs upon him and he answered 'yes, I have some in my pocket - just bought them'. From his front trouser pocket they recovered a yellow Kinder Egg which contained three packages of heroin and one of skunk cannabis with an estimated street value of £20.

Also recovered from his pocket was a blue latex glove which contained a wrap of white powder and an Alcatel mobile phone.

His home was also searched two hours later where officers found drugs and scales. They found 10.5g of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of £350 in his living room, a wrap of heroin in a kitchen drawer, skunk cannabis worth £210 in a downstairs toilet, 40g of herbal cannabis worth £80 on top of the fridge, an Aldi bag herbal cannabis (145g) valued at £280 in the main bedroom in, more herbal cannabis (100g) valued at £200 in the loft and a quantity of cannabis leaf.

A police drugs expert said that this amount of drugs was entirely inconsistent with personal use. Ahmed was found to have £3,390 of crack cocaine and heroin 'rather unattractively, concealed within his buttocks', Mr Aris said.

Mr Aris also told the jury that Rippard had told officers in interview he had 'forgotten' about the knife in the glove compartment of his girlfriend's car and denied possession of the blade.

He also said he thought the 10.5g of crack cocaine found at his Pershore address was mephedrone and that the heroin found on him in the car was for his personal use.

The trial continues.
