A teenage band who wowed shoppers with an amazing performance on Worcester high street are set to release their first single.

The four piece who go by the name Split Second mesmorised onlookers with an incredible rendition of Valerie by The Zutons while busking near the Hotel Chocolat shop in Worcester late last year.

People flocked to social media to heap praise on the gifted quartet after a video taken by a passer by was shared across social media.

In fact, they attracted so much attention, Luke Simons of Woo Fest launched a public appeal to find the teens and snap them up for the lineup of this summer's upcoming festival.

Made up of 14 and 15-year-olds Hannah Bowen (vocals), Jack Barnett (drums), Darcy Dines (bass guitar) and Levi Husbands (lead guitar), who are all at school in Worcester and Bromsgrove, the band is now set to take its next step in the world of music by releasing a debut single.

Titled “Ciao Bella”, the track will be released on Friday, February 11 and will be downloadable on all major platforms, including their new music video which will be available on YouTube.

Vocalist Hannah Bowen said the song was a "long time coming", and it had in fact been written by lead guitarist Levi Husbands over 18 months ago.

She said: "We're so excited to be launching our debut single, it was written by Levi over 18 months ago during lockdown so it's been a long time coming, but we've finally gotten ourselves into the studio to record it.

"We can't wait for the public to hear it and also getting back into the studio to lay down more of our tracks."

To celebrate the release of their first single, Split Second is holding a launch party at the Marrs Bar in Worcester on the same evening, where the band will be performing a full set.

"We're really looking forward to our launch party at The Marrs Bar which promises to be such an amazing night," Hannah added.
