We have been looking through the archives once again for some memories of days gone by in Worcestershire.

Today, we have chosen to look back through the file of the Bath Road, which revealed some fascinating photographs, including several covering the long-running saga of the Georgian buildings at the foot of the road, near the Sidbury/London Road triangle.

January 1983 and Bob and Bobbie Roberts, who ran The Albion at the foot of the Bath Road, were kitting out a double decker bus which they planned to use to travel to Portugal, where they wanted to buy their own bar.

 

 

 

March 1988 and Geraldine landlord Chris Watts are pictured at The Albion with some Edwardian posters and papers uncovered when a long-forgotten bricked-up room was uncovered during electrical works.

 

 

 

Discussions went on for well over a decade over the fate of the Georgian houses at the foot of the Bath Road. The wrecking ball was still ready to swing in December 1987.
