THERE is good news for drivers who have been caught in long delays caused by temporary traffic lights.

BT Openreach has taken the decision to cancel work on London Road which had caused queuing traffic to build up.

Temporary traffic lights were in place on the junction with Sebright Avenue.

The work to clear a blockage in a duct had meant to be completed by 3.30pm yesterday (Monday).

However, 'unforeseen circumstances' meant the temporary traffic lights stayed in place last night and this morning.

The traffic lights are now in the process of being removed which should ease the traffic problems.

Last night, First Worcester said it was experiencing delays of 30 minutes to its 45 service.

This morning, the bus group tweeted: "Services using London Rd [45/X50] subject to around 30 min delays due to temp lights at Sebright.

"This has also affected school services 51 to both Pershore High School & Prince Henry High School, service S44 to Chase High School & service S51 to Pershore Horticultural College."

It added that the delays had now cleared except for the X50 route at 10.10 from Evesham to Worcester which is running around 45 minutes late.
