ROAD in Worcester is being closed for excavation work.
The Butts is being shut while highways teams excavate and carry out repairs after an "electrical fault".
A tweet from the county council's highways team said: "We've been advised by WPD of an electrical fault in The Butts by The Hive, where one lane is closed already.
"The road will need to be closed to enable them to excavate and repair the fault."
It is not known yet how long it will be closed for or how traffic might be diverted in the area.
This is the situation with the traffic at the moment. Vehicles are backing up along Deansway and into Croft Road.
Some drivers have had to turn back after failing to stop at the closed signs.
A bus driver from the nearby bus depot was also forced to turn round.
