LOCAL historian Paul Harding, who runs Discover History with his wife Helen, will be signing copies of his new book at Worcester tourist information centre this weekend.

The award-winning education company delivers 37 different walking tours of Worcester. These can be booked by individuals and groups all year round. The Worcester Story is the name of their popular, daily tour and those on this tour can now purchase a souvenir book on the History of Worcester.

Paul said: “We were always being asked for a souvenir of the walk. We therefore created The Worcester Story book. The book will enthuse the general reader, as much as it will a tourist to Worcester or a ‘local’ with a passion for their home city.”

A book launch and signing will be a chance to meet Paul, purchase a signed copy and ask any questions you may have on the history of Worcester.

There will also be the opportunity to find out more about Discover History – if you are a teacher looking for a workshop, or a talk group looking for a speaker, then visit on Saturday and enquire.

The Worcester Story Book looks at the history of Worcester from the end of the last Ice Age up to the making of the university city of the 21st century.

Paul added: “Worcester has seen all the great chapters of the history of Britain and in some cases even world history.” Paul added.

The event takes place on Saturday, February 19, between 11.30am and 2pm.

The Worcester Story book costs £5 and can also be purchased direct from Discover History by emailing discoverhistory@aol.com
