A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered one patient, a woman, who had been rescued from the property by the fire service and was already receiving medical assistance.

“She was found to be in a critical condition and ambulance staff began administering advanced life support.

“However, despite everyone’s best efforts it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Worcester News:

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they had rescued the woman before she sadly died.

The spokesman said: "We were called at 9.01pm.

"Crews from Worcester, Bromsgrove and Droitwich attended, as well as the incident command unit from Wyre Forest.

"The first crew was met with a fire on the first floor of a terraced house with one person reported missing.

"The fire was fought by six firefighters using breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.

"The adjacent properties were evacuated.

"Despite receiving advanced trauma care at the scene and being quickly transported by ambulance, it has now been confirmed that the woman has sadly died.

"Firefighters left the scene at 2.12am.

"The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by our specialist fire investigation officers."

Firefighters, two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor were among the emergency services that originally responded to calls about the fire.
