THE new Batman film is just days away (or seconds if you're counting like a true superfan) and the excitement is rising to epic levels.

If you are anything like me, eagerly anticipating the release of DC's The Batman this Friday, then your eyes will have been glued to social media to see any trailers in preparation for the film.

During my evenings of scrolling through Twitter and TikTok, I came across a video showing how you could get a taste of the action with a mystery flavoured hot chocolate available at Caffè Nero.

The cafe is offering a drink - branded with a Riddler style question mark - with a chance to guess the flavour as a way of promoting the new superhero epic.

I knew I had to try it - and judging by the number of TikTok likes I'm not the only one.

I made my way down to Worcester's Caffè Nero on Broad Street and was greeted outside by promotional posters showing the drink.

As I joined the queue, I noticed other people were also ordering the £3.83 mystery drink.

Despite sitting in, I asked the barista for the drink to be in a takeaway away cup like in the TikTok, and the design did not disappoint.

Fitting the theme of the film, the disposable cup has a silhouette of Batman on a red backdrop on one side, and Caffè Nero's logo in the film's text with a picture of The Riddler's signature question mark symbol.

The drink also looked very aesthetically pleasing served in a mug, as you can see in the picture below.

The customer to the right of me was also a die-hard Batman fan and trying the drink and allowed me to take the picture of the drink in the mug.

One customer said: " I was really keen to try it but it almost looks too good to drink in the mug."

I took my seat and removed the plastic lid to see the perfectly formed question mark in chocolate dust.

Before tasting, I tried to smell the drink to see if I could detect any strong scents to help me work out the mystery flavour but was met purely with the smell of sweet hot chocolate.

After taking my first sip, my head was flooded with potential flavourings like chai, vanilla gingerbread.

I found the drink to have a deep malted flavour, similar to a malted milk biscuit, with a sweet after taste of cherry. Malted cherry was therefore my guess!

It seemed my idea was rather similar to the guesses made in the TikTok, with the creator revealing her guess was either Cherry or lemon and lime, and her mother's was cherry or flapjack.

Overall, I enjoyed the drink and the experience of trying to guess the flavour, and I visited the Caffe Nero website once I was done to submit my official guess.

Matt Reeve's The Batman follows a series of murders from a serial killer known as The Riddler, which leads Batman on a gritty trail throughout Gotham City following the killer's clues.

The film is said to be a darker take on the classic DC superhero story, with a star-studded cast including Robert Pattinsonson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle (Catwoman), Paul Dano as The Riddler and Colin Farrell as Oswald Copperpot (The Penguin).

The film is due to be released on Friday 4 March, with Odeon and Vue holding midnight screenings for die-hard fans.

You may not be a fan of superhero films, but everyone loves hot chocolate, so I would certainly recommend taking a trip to your local Caffè Nero to try it.
