We have gathered the latest fuel prices from stations across Worcester as costs continue to rise.

Fuel has risen sharply since sanctions were imposed on Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.

Using the website petrolprices.com, we have compiled a list of the prices around the Worcester area.

According to the data sourced from petrolprices.com, Bransford Fuel Express Automat has the cheapest unleaded fuel at 159.7p.

The second cheapest was revealed to be both the BP station on Whittington Road and the Murco Powick service station, with prices of 159.9p.

For diesel, the cheapest was also the Bransford Fuel Express Automat, with a price of 169.7p.

The second cheapest was both the Texaco station on Castle Street and the Esso station on London Road, both a price of 170.9p.

The cheapest for super unleaded out of the available data was the Texaco garage on Bath Road, with a price of 159.9p, and the cheapest for premium diesel was both the Texaco station on bath Road and the Esso station on London Road, both a price of 183.9p.

As of yesterday (Wednesday 16), petrol reached an average of £1.65 per litre across the country.

Figures from data firm Experian Catalist show the average cost of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts has increased by 16p in the past month.

That has made the cost of filling a typical 55-litre family car nearly £9 more expensive.

The average cost of diesel on Tuesday was £1.76 per litre, up 24p in just one month.

Simon Williams, RAC fuel spokesman, said drivers “badly need a break from these relentless daily rises”.

Mr Williams expressed hope that retailers will “soon start to pass on recent reductions in the price of wholesale fuel”, but warned they are “extremely conscious of protecting themselves from any more rises that could suddenly materialise”.

He added: “With the Spring Statement just a week away, drivers will be looking to the Chancellor to end their misery by cutting duty or VAT.

“One thing’s for sure: simply reiterating that fuel duty has been frozen at 58p a litre simply isn’t going to cut it."
