ONE of Worcester's biggest employers has announced a new volunteering initiative to celebrate the firm's 60th birthday.

Worcester Bosch has given its employees the opportunity to volunteer a working day for a charity or community of their choice as celebrations for the milestone birthday continue.

The scheme is open to 1,800 employees nationwide, and the firm is looking for county charity or community led projects that have national reach to support.

The firm, that has sites in Worcester and Clay Cross, says the aim is to to give back to the community and go beyond just being know for the products it manufactures.

Over the last six decades the charity work has not only helped the manufacturer support and build lasting connections with the local community but has helped inspire both employees and the next generation of apprentices and young professionals.

Every year employees choose a charity to fundraise for and this year the chosen charity is Mind, which provides mental health services.

Over the years hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised for good causes along with days spent helping local charities including St Richard’s Hospice and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

I'm looking for volunteers, how do I get in touch with Worcester Bosch?

Victoria Billings, director of marketing at Worcester Bosch, said: “Throughout our 60-year history, warming lives has been an intricate part of our business, not only in the products we manufacture but in the impact we have on those around us.

"We really want this to shine through during our anniversary by offering a collective 12,600 hours of support from all of our employees.”
