IT COULD be described as a 'pocket of peace' - the Worcestershire hotel named best in the county surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The Elms and Greenhouse spa in Abberley is just 30 minutes outside of Worcester city centre.

The Elms was crowned the best hotel in Worcestershire by Visit Worcestershire, so we decided to take a look inside the spa.

At first glance, the building looks like a lavish country home perfect for the set of Downton Abbey or Bridgerton.

But, it is the warm and welcoming interior that sets the hotel apart from the rest.

Once you enter the exquisite building you are met with a welcoming ambience that consists of a compilation of mirrors and clocks that tell you the time from around the world.

Not forgetting the 'best hotel award' proudly perched on the reception desk.

The hotel transported us into a cosy home away from home that welcomes a range of people from couples to mothers and daughters and hen parties.

While sipping a cappuccino in the cafe overlooking the garden, the plethora of sofas, comfy chairs and perfectly fluffed cushions did make us feel like we were sitting in the Bridgerton's living room and the Duchess was about to walk through the doors.

Spa manager Zoe Merriman showed us around the spa which had a quirky but cosy jungle theme.

Once you enter the spa you are met with the welcoming smell of lavender and the calming sound of fresh running water.

Miss Merriman said the interior helps visitors relax in a home away from home.

The spa has extravagant bursts of detail hidden in every corner, including the jungle-themed bunting wrapped around the oak shelves and the zebra print cushions.

Water fountains and fresh plants are a staple piece of every room which can make you feel like you're sitting in a very lavish living room.

The spa comes with a sauna, steam room, a thermal suite and rainforest showers, including mud rooms and cosy seating areas to sit and relax whilst having your nails done.

Not only that but the spa has a spin room, gym, relaxation rooms, and several cosy treatment rooms and changing facilities.

Those looking to get away from the busy city life might also be pleased to know that the hotel has ten acres of grounds for visitors to soak up the rural countryside views.
