A NEW secure dog park is coming to Worcester next week.

The Claines Secure Dog Field, located on School Bank in Claines, is currently finishing renovations with the hope to open its doors to the public on Monday (April 11) next week.

The work is being carried out by R H Phillips & Co, who operate an existing agricultural business based at Church Farm, Cornmeadow Lane, Claines.

He said: "We are here renovating the Claines Secure Dog field, which will be a safe environment where people can walk their dogs to and they can run around safely off the lead.

"Hopefully we will see plenty of people here enjoying it."

Work began on the park last week, and already the project is close to being completed.

The park measures 0.98 hectares and four parking spaces are available at the front of the park.

Henry said: "We first started the work last Thursday.

"We got the fence up first and made sure everything was secure. We are also currently in the process of fishing off the car park at the front, we are just waiting for some stone to be delivered so we can get everything in order.

"We are also looking to get tyres and pipes for the dogs to play with and run through installed as well.

"We are hoping to have everything up and running for Monday and to get the community down to enjoy it."

A similar facility currently exists at Top Barn Farm, which offers a two-acre enclosed field dubbed the 'Pawticularly Secure Exercise Field'.
