A RAPIDLY expanding firm has opened its new headquarters in Worcester.

Cube International, a sports management and promotion company, has expanded from 10 employees to 70 in just a few years, and is expanding further with plans to recruit even more locally.

The expansion of the firm, that also has a Manchester-based office, meant it needed new headquarters so it has moved into a new 45,000 square foot facility at St Modwen Park in Norton Road.

The Commonwealth Games being held in Birmingham this year was described as the "major catalyst" in the decision to move to Worcester, with the warehouse at the site being used to manage the on-event retail programme for the Games, as well as providing stock management and logistics.

The firm is also employing more than 50 temporary employees from June to the end of the Games, as well as 1,000 event retail staff across all the Games venues and villages.

The new facility was recently opened by the Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Stephen Hodgson, Perry the Bull, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games mascot, and Cube International’s chief executive Ed Boardman.

Worcester News:

Mr Boardman said: “The opening of our new HQ in Worcester is an important development in the growth of the business and an important step in delivering our ambitious growth plans.

"Our new facility will also allow us to enhance our efficiency and sustainability within the sports industry and enable us to integrate our group more effectively.

"It is a big step forward as we grow our national and international footprint to best serve our clients and partners.”

Cllr Hodgson, added: “It was a real pleasure to be part of the opening of Cube’s headquarters.

"It was great to come to their new facility in Worcester and see what they do. I wish them the greatest success for the years to come.”
