ONE of Worcester’s largest employers is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Worcester Bosch, originally set up in 1962, employs more than 1,800 people and has launched a special campaign to celebrate the milestone.

Throughout this year, the “More than 60” campaign seeks to recognise people who have gone the extra mile in the pandemic and reward them for their dedication.

The initiative is open to four different audiences: these are installers, Worcester heating system owners, community groups and the company’s own employees.

Prizes range from new power-tools and van wraps to day-out experiences and new heating systems.

60 prizes will be given out while the competition is running.

Victoria Billings, director of marketing at Worcester Bosch, said: “We have gone through an incredible journey as a company over the last 60 years; and the one thing we have always aimed to do is warm lives.

“We want to recognise those who also warm lives in any way and who go that extra mile for others.

“We’re looking forward to hearing the inspiring stories of those who are nominated.”

For customers, Worcester Bosch is looking to reward those who have “spread warmth with their actions” in helping out during the pandemic.

Installers who went above and beyond to help people during the pandemic are also being sought.

The company is looking to provide a new heating system to a deserving, underfunded community space somewhere in the UK.

It is hoped the new installation will help keep running costs down for the lucky organisation.

Finally, the company is on the lookout for Worcester Bosch employees who do their bit to help their colleagues and the public in Worcester and further afield.

Worcester Bosch was set up in the city back in 1962.

Since then, the company has grown to one of the country’s largest heating system and boiler providers.

Its first headquarters was at the Old Vinegar Works in St Martin’s Gate.

The company then moved to Diglis in 1968 and Warndon in the 1990s.
