Bus routes that are due to be axed are set to keep running for the next three months.

Following discussions with First Bus, Worcestershire County Council has agreed that the 31, 32 and 37 bus services will continue as normal for this period of time.

Previous communication from First Bus had said that the services were due to change.

First Bus has announced:

  • Service 31/31A – It is with regret this service will be discontinued.  Discussions are in place with Worcestershire County Council to provide a day-time service. 
  • Service 32 – Changes are being made to the Monday to Friday & Saturday timetables.  Peak time journeys to/from Kempsey and Baynhall will remain.
  • Service 37 –  It is with regret this service will be discontinued.  Discussions are in place with Worcestershire County Council to provide a day-time service.

The 3 services cover Henwick Park via St John’s and the University, Worcester St Peter’s, Batynhall via Bath Road & Kempsey and Worcester Bevere via Northwick

A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said “We are currently in discussions with First Bus regarding changes to some of their bus services in the county.

"We have agreed that the 31, 32 and 37 services will continue as normal for the next three months, and are continuing to explore options with First for the future.

The County Council and First Bus have said they will continue discussions for the future of these 3 services and other services in the county.

First Worcester has confirmed its 144 service which runs from Worcester – Droitwich – Bromsgrove – Catshill – Birmingham will terminate at Catshill from Sunday, May 1.

This means the service will not run between Catshill and Birmingham.
